Freedom Rings

Charlie Kirk's message will live on

Freedom of speech is one of our natural rights endowed by our Creator. Its importance is reflected in our constitution as the first right which constrains the government from violating that right. It is the underpinning of our Republic.

The cowardly political assassination of Charlie Kirk, the conservative founder of Turning Point USA is a direct attack on the first freedom, free speech. It is a symptom of a dark evil that has permeated the ideology of the far left and progressive movement. This did not occur in a vacuum. From the shooting of Congressman Steve Scalise, the ongoing political violence perpetrated by the progressive foot soldiers of Antifa, two attempted assassinations of President Trump, Congresswoman Maxine Waters telling people to get in your political opponents face, Senator Schumer's threat against the Supreme Court on abortion and both New York Governors telling conservatives to get out of New York, the examples are endless.

Charlie Kirk did not die in vain. His legacy will be the perpetuity of the principles of conservatism, Faith, Family and Freedom. His belief in Jesus Christ for salvation, his drive to uplift and encourage the nuclear family and the preservation of liberty as enumerated in America's founding documents reflect the values of America. This is what makes America great. This evil and vile act which sought to silence us has now become a rallying cry to work harder to promote these principles. We will never back down and never surrender. We will prevail in the arena of ideas and we will be fearless.

Charlie was the ultimate man in the arena.  He went to colleges and universities across America to promote critical thinking and objective reasoning by debating those who disagreed with his views. Often he was subject to violence and open hostility not only from students but also by the very institutions that falsely professed fidelity to free speech. Undeterred, he built a movement stirred by his words and an unwavering committment to the principal of liberty. On the day he was tragically killed, he wore a shirt with one word, "Freedom". Freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of thought, and the freedom to debate those who disagree.

We will speak the truth with love and with facts versus anger and bitterness fueled by emotion. We will seek to persuade versus using violence to force change to public policy. We will debate our opponents versus demonizing those with differing views. We will succeed because the cause is just and is simply common sense.

We pray for the Kirk family, those who support Charlie's message of love and our Republic.
